1 million 30 thousand rubles «in hand»: in Sevastopol, the head of a state organization was caught on a bribe

Operatives of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol, together with colleagues from the regional division of the Federal Security Service of Russia, as a result of operational-search activities, detained the head of a state organization suspected of receiving illegal monetary rewards.
It was established that -year-old director of the limited liability company «Sevastopol Center for Land Management and Geodesy» subordinated to the City Department of Property and Land relations, having the authority to manage and dispose of the property of the organization he heads, he offered the 40-year-old local entrepreneur who applied to him to purchase five premises on Ochakovtsev Street, located on the balance sheet of «Sevgeocenter» at a deliberately low cost. For assistance in conducting an examination of the market value of real estate and the subsequent execution of a purchase and sale transaction, the official demanded that 1 million thousand rubles be transferred to him as an illegal cash reward , — reported the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol.
Illegal actions of the head of the «Sevgeocenter» were stopped at the time of the transfer of funds in his office by the employees of the UEBiPK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol. The money received as a bribe was confiscated.
The materials collected by the police officers were transferred to the investigating authorities of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. The actions of the detainee show signs of a crime under Part 6 of Art. 40 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Taking a bribe». The sanction of the article involves punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of eight to fifteen years.
Currently, further operational measures are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the detainee’s illegal activities. An objective legal assessment of the actions of DIZO officials will also be given.
By court decision, the person involved was taken into custody.
