15% of Crimeans made career decisions under pressure from relatives

City dwellers who are faced with psychological pressure from loved ones regarding work and career most often find the strength to do things their own way. In a service survey SuperJob Representatives of companies and economically active citizens took part.
15% of Crimeans had to experience psychological pressure from family and friends regarding work and career: “I want to move to another city, my mother is afraid of being left without help, so she is offended and angry”; “The current work schedule does not suit family members”; “I understood that I needed to quit, but my family put pressure on me to continue working”; “My husband is not satisfied with the size of my salary.” Most often, those who are younger face this kind of “pressure” (23% among respondents under 34 years of age versus 12% among respondents over 45 years of age). City residents with a salary of more than 100 thousand rubles per month spoke least often about attempts by relatives to influence decisions regarding work and career (9%),” noted the service’s press service.
In a situation where relatives try to impose career decisions, the majority still manage to do things their own way (63%). 11% follow the lead of loved ones. Every fourth person strives to reach a compromise option (26%).
According to a survey of company representatives, situations where employees quit under family pressure are not so rare: every third employer sometimes encounters a similar justification for the decision to leave the company, every twentieth said such cases are frequent.
