171 drivers in Crimea convicted of driving while intoxicated

In Crimea, in the first quarter of 2024, 171 drivers were convicted, found guilty of committing a crime under Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle while intoxicated by a person subject to administrative punishment or having a criminal record).
Based on the results of the courts’ consideration of criminal cases, 30 convicts were sentenced to real imprisonment for a certain period of time, 9 citizens were assigned forced labor, 7 were given suspended imprisonment, 113 were given compulsory labor, and 9 were given a fine. The perpetrators are deprived of the right to drive all types of vehicles for certain periods. At the same time, 36 people had previously been convicted of driving while intoxicated— reported the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea.
In 80 criminal cases, decisions were made to confiscate vehicles; in 3 criminal cases, funds corresponding to the value of the vehicle subject to confiscation were confiscated from the perpetrators.
We remind you that committing this crime is punishable by up to 3 years in prison with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to 6 years and, according to Art. 104.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, confiscation of the vehicle.
