18 years in prison — the sentence for a Crimean who tried to blow up the car of the Head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov

From April 16 to June 13, 2023, Korchinsky was given the task of committing a terrorist act in Simferopol — the explosion of a car with the head of the Republic of Crimea Aksenov S. V. in it. He carried out surveillance of the head of the Republic of Crimea, studied the alleged crime scene, and also mapped the alleged route of the car to the site of the planned explosion. The court found him guilty and sentenced him to 18 years in prison, the first 4 years in prison with a fine of 350 thousand rubles— said the agency’s interlocutor.
According to the investigation, in December 2022, the defendant agreed to an offer from a Security Service of Ukraine employee to cooperate against the Russian Federation. From December 2022 to April 2023, he arrived in the city of Zaporizhia in the Zaporizhia region, where he was trained in handling explosives. He trained to install them on a car and safely leave the scene, and also received skills in conspiracy, surveillance, visual observation and changing his appearance.
In order to blow up Aksyonov’s car, the suspect received the coordinates of a hiding place from which he removed the explosives, after which he was detained by law enforcement officers.
Cases were opened against Korchinsky under Part 1 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 205 (attempted terrorist attack), Article 205.3 (undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activity), subparagraph “c” of Part 3 of Article 222.1 (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation of explosives) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
