CrimeaPRESS reports:

A record daily collection of 200 kilograms of olives, 1,000 favorite children’s books, as well as a batch of homemade Italian pizzas from children from 89 regions was collected yesterday at the Artek international children’s center in Crimea. A series of patriotic actions was dedicated to supporting fighters and civilians in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

A traditional olive harvest festival took place in Artek. This is one of the brightest events of autumn at the children’s center. The olives collected by the children from all 89 regions in the Artek grove will be transferred to the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, where specialists will preserve and package them. The Artek team will hand over the finished product to Russian military personnel.

The harvest is going well. I am a patriot of my country, so it is a great pride for me to take part in such an event. Even if I can support our military personnel even with such a small deedsays Elizaveta Lapshina from the city of Naberezhnye Chelny.

This time, the Popular Front and a chef from Italy, a true Russian patriot, Antonio Rizzi, who specially came to Crimea for this purpose, joined the gathering. In total, they managed to collect 200 kilograms of olives that day.

I am a citizen of the Russian Federation. I’ve been living here for 24 years. And how this country has accepted me, I believe that first of all, I must somehow give back to my civic duty to society. And I won’t refuse — I’ll help in any way I can. That’s why I have now come to Crimea to help the front together. I finally found a place in Russia where, just like back home in Italy, we hand-pick olives in November straight from the trees. And knowing that these hundreds of kilograms of olives will go to our guys at the front, it is especially honorable to collect themnotes Antonio Rizzi.

But a small part of the collection went not for conservation, but directly into a batch of Italian pizzas, for which the chef gave a master class in the Artek dining room together with the children. Already this Saturday, the Popular Front will arrive at the positions of the fighters in the Kherson direction of the Northern Military District to arrange a field holiday for the guys in Italian, to which they will also bring a batch of pizzas, into which children from all over the country have put a piece of their soul.

In addition, children from all 89 regions on shift this month brought with them another thousand of their favorite books. The “Book to a Friend” campaign is becoming a good tradition; this is already the 3rd “thousandth” book collection over the past few months. The guys put a postcard with feedback in their books so that the child who reads the book can call, share their impressions and make friends 1000 kilometers away. All collected Popular Front books will be delivered to children’s and school libraries in the Kherson and Zaporozhye libraries in the near future.
