235 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea ensure security at polling stations

Elections for the President of the Russian Federation have started in the country. The Ministry of Emergency Situations is carefully monitoring the situation on the peninsula. The forces and means of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea have been transferred to high alert mode.

Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Sadakliev said that Crimean rescuers are ready to respond:

Crimean rescuers, in cooperation with executive bodies, local government bodies, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other operational services, are in full readiness to quickly respond to any emergency incidents and to act as intended.

According to him, 235 employees of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea», the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «CRIMEA — SPAS» ensure security at 152 polling stations. In addition, mobile groups have been formed from among the personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

On the eve of the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, a set of preventive measures was taken to ensure security at polling stations. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea has developed plans for the use of forces and means in case of emergencies, coordinated duty schedules, and clarified issues of notification and interaction of emergency services.

On behalf of Sergei Sadakliev, at polling stations where employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea are involved, evacuation routes were clarified, the serviceability of external water supply sources and primary fire extinguishing equipment was checked, and access roads were inspected. Responsible personnel were given fire safety training.
