26-year-old Crimean responsible for fatal accident

The Simferopol District Prosecutor’s Office supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 26-year-old local resident. The Crimean was found guilty under Part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules resulting in the death of a person through negligence).

The court found that in April of this year, the convict was driving a Kia Ceed along the Simferopol – Sevastopol – Kashtanovoe highway. Seeing a Škoda Octavia car stopped in front of him in his lane, the driver applied emergency braking and drove into oncoming traffic, colliding with a Renault Fluence car. A passenger in a Renault car died as a result of a traffic accident.— the prosecutor’s office recalled the circumstances of the fatal accident.
The court, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to 1 year and 10 months of imprisonment to be served in a penal colony. In addition, the man was deprived of the right to drive all types of vehicles for a period of 2 years. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
