3 out of 10 teachers in Crimea are against a separate ecology course in schools

Most Crimeans support the idea of introducing ecology lessons into the school curriculum. In a survey conducted by a service for finding high-paying jobs SuperJob Representatives of the economically active population, including school teachers and parents of students, took part.
In Kamchatka schools Ecology lessons appeared. The Kamchatka Krai Governor’s Advisor proposes to introduce such a subject into the compulsory educational program of schools in all regions of Russia. According to a survey, 68% of Crimeans support this idea: «Definitely yes. We need to instill in children a care for nature»; «Cleanliness is our future!» 15% of respondents spoke out against it, and 17% found it difficult to answer: in their opinion, the school program is already overloadeda,” the service’s press service reported.
7 out of 10 city residents aged 35-44 are in favor of ecology lessons in schools. The level of support for the initiative increases with the income level of respondents.
Among parents of schoolchildren and future first-graders, 58% support the introduction of ecology lessons. Every fifth parent (19%) is against.
Among teachers, 64% expressed a positive attitude towards the introduction of new lessons. However, 3 out of 10 teachers opposed the idea, believing that environmental topics would be better integrated into existing subjects.
