IT Park RUS, together with Sevastopol State University, is conducting the CyberRoy acceleration program for students: since April 2024, student project teams have been creating innovative products. More than 15 industrial companies from Sevastopol and Russia became partners of the program, providing the opportunity to test projects on their base. The most successful and promising ideas will have the opportunity to be implemented under the guidance of experts, and will also share the prize fund.
In June, the accelerator program crossed the time equator and the participating teams presented their projects in three areas to the expert jury: UAVs, infrastructure and automation.
The jury included specialists from the RISCY startup studio «IT Garage» Ivan Kravchenko and Dmitry Snegur, as well as Deputy General Director of «IT Park RUS» Marina Aleshina. Experts assessed the effectiveness of the project’s solution to the industrial partner’s problem if the task was taken from the partner; the effectiveness of the project’s use of the university’s scientific developments; the effectiveness of the project in solving the problems of technological sovereignty of the Russian Federation; applied application of the idea for the Sevastopol Scientific and Production Center; prospects for commercialization; as well as the novelty of the idea.
The projects that scored the most points advanced to the next stage and will be studied in more detail; based on the results of the accelerator, the teams should have ready-made business plans.
I am glad that the participants touched upon completely different areas: education, agro-industry, social sphere, blockchain, and much more. Of course, the projects are still raw and are only at the idea stage, but the directions are very interesting and worthy of development. The main thing is that many projects are relevant to the requests of program partners. And if you bring teams together with industrial partners, something really useful for the modern market can come out of this. In addition, I would like to note that the guys have an understanding of the specifics of the region and the projects are as close as possible to the needs of our region. 30 projects have reached the next stage, including the following: collecting water samples using drones, searching for optimal routes for unmanned delivery systems, a robotic assistant in medical institutions, an educational platform with a unique currency system, computer vision for marine and aerial robotic systems, robot assistant in the vineyard and others.
