38-year-old Muscovite «bred for money» pensioners of Sevastopol

Sevastopol police detained a resident of Moscow suspected of aiding telephone scammers
As a result of the operational-search activity, the officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol detained a man suspected of a series of frauds. It was established that in order to make illegal money, a 38-year-old resident of the capital found on the Internet an advertisement for working as a courier under the fraudulent scheme “Your relative got into an accident”, contacted anonymous curators in correspondence and agreed to cooperate. On the instructions of his accomplices, the man arrived in Sevastopol and in two days managed to steal 2 million 243 thousand rubles from eight elderly women— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
Criminal cases were initiated against the detainee under Parts 2 and 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud”), he faces up to 6 years in prison. The defendant was taken into custody.
