40 students tidied up the territory of the Memorial «Sorrowing Mother» in Simferopol

On April 26, representatives of student detachments of the Republic of Crimea, as part of the All-Russian subbotnik dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory, carried out harvesting work on the territory of the Mother Mother’s memorial, located in the Marshal Zhukov microdistrict in Simferopol.

The Memorial «Sorrowing Mother» is a place of mass executions of Soviet citizens during the Second World War of 1941 — 1945. Here, the German-fascist invaders killed thousands of innocent people.

In addition to the fighters of Russian student detachments, more than 30 residents of the city of Simferopol also took part in the subbotnik. By the same time, the participants in the event cleared the territory of the memorial and the adjacent alleys from fallen leaves, pedestals from dirt, removed the paths leading to the memorial, and collected household garbage.

The Date of Victory is close to all of us — and we gathered again at the place of memory, which reminds us of the price that our people paid for this victory. As part of the landing landing, the student detachments of the Republic of Crimea have already carried out work on the improvement of 32 fraternal burials, 40 monuments and commemorative signs of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Today we again continued to work in the capital of Crimea. It is especially pleasant to see that residents of the city worked with us. This really unites and shows how important it is to maintain our story and memory of it. We thank the administration of Simferopol for the possibility of conducting subbotniks. Such events are important for preserving and perpetuating the memory of the heroism of our countrymen, — noted Maria Nekrasova, commissar of the Crimean regional branch of Russian student detachments.

Today I took part in a subbotnik, because I consider it important not only to make our city cleaner, but also to honor the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Working along with the Studyads of Crimea, students and schoolchildren, I realized that we were participating in a really important matter. Together we removed a memorable place to pay tribute to those who fought for our freedom. This is not just a job — this is our contribution to the preservation of the memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for their homeland— said a resident of Simferopol.

Improvement was carried out as part of the All -Russian campaign “#difficulty”, dedicated to the celebration of spring and labor from Rosmoloda and Russian student detachments.
