41% of employed Crimeans have asked for a salary increase over the past year

Those who ask their employer for a raise without naming a specific amount are more likely to remain without a raise. In a survey by the service Superjob.ru Representatives of the economically active population from the city, who have had permanent employment for a year or more, took part.
41% of employed Crimeans have asked for a salary increase in the last year. Men asked their employers for a raise more often than women. Negotiations for a salary increase were more often conducted by employees aged 25 to 34 (51%). Employees with secondary specialized education asked for a raise more often than specialists who graduated from universities (44 and 39%). The average amount of the desired salary increase was 20%. The average amount of the actual increase was 15%, and four out of ten who asked were denied a salary increase, — the service’s press service reported.
Negotiating a raise without naming a specific amount is a bad strategy! 55% of those who did not name a specific amount remained on the same salary, while, for example, among those who asked for a quarter increase, only 35% remained without a raise.
