42% of Crimean residents support paying for their parents’ education using maternity capital

Only 4 out of 10 residents of Crimea are in favor of allowing parents to pay for their education from maternity capital. In a service survey SuperJob Representatives of the economically active population of Crimea took part.

State Duma Deputy S. Kolunov took the initiative expand the list of possibilities for using maternity capitalincluding payment for the education of the child’s parents. According to the results of a survey conducted by SuperJob, 42% of Crimean residents support this proposal: “I completely agree, it is necessary to spend money on the development of parents”; “It’s good when parents get an education, because then the children become smarter.” However, every third respondent expressed their disagreement: “I think there are already enough opportunities to spend maternity capital”; “Capital is given to children, not to parents. I’m against it.» 25% of respondents found it difficult to answer.

Men are more likely than women to support this initiative: 45% versus 39%. Among respondents aged 35 to 44 years, the level of approval is the highest — 42% (among respondents under 34 years old — 40%, and among those over 45 years old — only 34%). The higher the income, the more often residents of Crimea agree with expanding the possibilities for using maternity capital: among those whose earnings are up to 50 thousand rubles a month, only 28% support the bill, and among those who receive over 100 thousand rubles — already 42% .

What do parents think about the deputy’s initiative: 42% are for, 30% are against, and 28% found it difficult to answer. Fathers were slightly less likely than mothers to express agreement (40 and 44%, respectively). Those parents who have the right to maternity capital approved the bill more often than those who do not have such a right.
