4866 young Sevastopol residents have already been enrolled in first grades
CrimeaPRESS reports:
This is the number of first-graders enrolled in Sevastopol schools today, although by September 5 (applications for first grade are still being accepted) there will presumably be about a thousand more.
As reported on August 12 at a staff meeting in the Sevastopol government by the director of the education department, Maxim Krivonos, on September 1, 51,540 thousand students will sit at school desks. In addition, 10,260 applications for 2,200 places have been submitted to the secondary vocational education (SVE) system, from which it can be concluded that the 10th grade will be supplemented by students from among those who are not enrolled in colleges.
According to M. Krivonos, right now, inspections are being conducted in all schools, regardless of their form of ownership and departmental affiliation. They are planned to be completed in 80% of educational organizations by August 16.
Among the spot works with deferred acceptance, there remained, for example, tidying up flower beds in city schools and the next mowing of grass in rural areas.
In addition, issues of fire safety and terrorist protection are being worked on, including the functioning of emergency call buttons and the condition of shelters.
By the beginning of the new academic year, four schools will have completed major repairs; a commission acceptance is also being conducted for them.
