489 residents of Sevastopol have received maternity benefits since the beginning of the year

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Since the beginning of the year, the SFR Branch in Sevastopol has paid maternity benefits to 489 employed mothers in the amount of over 74.5 million rubles.

The benefit is paid to pregnant women on maternity leave or to women who have adopted a child up to three months old. In this case, the mother must be registered under an employment contract and insured by the Social Fund of Russia. The right to benefits in 2024 also arises for individual entrepreneurs who paid voluntary contributions to the Social Fund in 2023.

A certificate of incapacity for work, which is drawn up by the attending physician at the antenatal clinic, is the basis for the appointment of pregnancy benefits. The medical institution transmits data to the SFR in electronic form. The fund department generates information for payment of benefits and sends it to the employer for confirmation— the press service of the head of the SFR Branch for Sevastopol quotes Elena Gaivoronskaya.

The amount of the benefit depends on the woman’s average earnings for the two years preceding maternity leave and the length of working hours. The benefit is paid in a lump sum for the entire vacation period and is equal to 100% of average earnings.

If during these two years the woman was on maternity leave or child care leave, the corresponding calendar years at her request can be replaced if this leads to an increase in the amount of the benefit.

You can get advice on this issue by calling the SFR’s single contact center: 8 (800) 100-00-01 (toll-free call).
