6 out of 10 Crimeans against Soviet-style school uniforms
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Only one in five parents of schoolchildren would like their child to wear a school uniform from the times of Imperial Russia and the Soviet Union. In a survey conducted by a service for finding high-paying jobs Superjob Representatives of the economically active population of Crimea, including parents of schoolchildren, took part.
Deputy Vitaly Milonov proposed that the Ministry of Education introduce new school uniformtaking as a basis the uniform of the early 20th century and the Soviet Union (the latter inherited the traditions of the pre-revolutionary gymnasium uniform). According to a SuperJob survey, only every fourth resident of Crimea (26%) supports such an initiative. 6 out of 10 respondents (62%) believe that the school uniform should be developed in accordance with modern trends. 12% found it difficult to answer: in their opinion, the uniform, first of all, should be of high quality and suitable for children, or it should be abolished altogether— the service’s press service notes.
Men are more likely to speak out in favor of a uniform in a historical style (30% versus 22% among women). The older the respondents, the more supporters of the Soviet uniform among them. The idea of returning to old sewing patterns is more often to the liking of those who earn from 100 thousand rubles.
What do parents of schoolchildren think: only every fifth of them (21%) wants their child to wear school clothes in the style of Imperial Russia and the USSR. 61% believe that the uniform should be developed taking into account current trends. Most often, mothers of students vote against (70%).
