6 out of 10 Crimeans believe that there is a middle class in Russia
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In a service survey SuperJob Representatives of the economically active population participated.
6 out of 10 Crimeans believe that there is a middle class in Russia. 34% consider themselves to be one of them. The main characteristics of the middle class, according to city residents, are income level (79% of respondents), apartment ownership (34%), higher education and profession (27% each). Women more often believe in the existence of a middle class in Russia and more often consider themselves part of it. Probably the fact is that women have lower demands, but they are more likely than men to name the main characteristics of the middle class as having an apartment and a position. According to women, those whose income level per person averages 130 thousand rubles per month can be considered middle class, while men’s needs are 170 thousand rubles— reported the press service of the service.
City dwellers aged 35-44 talk about the existence of a middle class and consider themselves to be part of it more often than those who are younger and those who are older. They often associate the middle class with a special worldview and the opportunity to travel abroad.
Every second respondent with a salary of 100 thousand rubles a month believes that there is a middle class in Russia. They more often consider a special worldview, higher education, and ownership of a home to be attributes of this stratum of society.
The number of respondents with higher and secondary vocational education who are confident in the existence of the Russian middle class and consider themselves part of it differs slightly. However, university graduates were significantly more likely to believe that a representative of the middle class must have a higher education and vacation abroad, while college graduates more often believe that it is necessary to have a profession and a good car.
