The 7th shift of «Artek in the Frame», dedicated to cinematography and children’s diplomacy, has ended at the International Children’s Center. More than 3,000 talented and enthusiastic schoolchildren from all regions of Russia and their peers from Australia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic gathered at the central stadium to say the warmest words of farewell to each other and take the oath of an Artek citizen.
Addressing the participants of the shift, Konstantin Fedorenko, director of the Artek International Children’s Center, said: “We lived 21 days of Artek’s life. We studied, learned something new, tried to respect the elders and not offend the younger ones. We believed and were proud of our country. And most importantly, we were friends. I am sure that you will carry this friendship through your whole life, because an Artek citizen today is an Artek citizen always! Friends, take each other by the hand! Do you feel each other? Each of you is a part of Artek, and all together you are Artek, you are Russia. Today, representatives of all 89 constituent entities of the Russian Federation are on this site. We are united here, and unity is the strength of our country. Go Russia!»
By tradition, at the “Meeting Before Parting”, each Artek resident became not just a spectator, but a participant in a musical performance that helped the guys understand what desires are worthy to be fulfilled. And having achieved what you want, it is important to shine brightly and never go out, as the main character of the performance, the Star, could do. Also, the performance that ended the shift reminded all the pupils of the children’s center about the most important thing: you must definitely believe that everything is possible; forget about self-interest; always appreciate and support each other; dream, hope, love.
Traditionally, at the «Meeting before parting», the main award of the children’s center was presented — the sign of public recognition «Star of Artek». According to the results of the 7th shift in 2023, for high personal achievements, successful participation in the camp programs, respect for peers and the Artek community, Artek Stars were awarded to:
- Denis Makarov, Nizhny Novgorod region, Nizhny Novgorod (school camp «Yantarny»);
- Magomed Yunusov, Chechen Republic, Grozny (children’s theater «Crystal»);
- Danil Malyutin, Tyumen region, Zavodoukovsk (school camp «Morskoy»);
- Arseny Volkov, Kostroma, Nekrasovo village (school camp «Azure»);
- Elizaveta Tolbatova, Stavropol Territory, Stavropol (c / l «Cypress»);
- Arseniy Vdovichenko, Donetsk People’s Republic, Donetsk (recreational camp «River»);
- Muslim Mudarov, Chechen Republic, Grozny (forest school);
- Rifat Akhmetzyanov, Ulyanovsk region, Dimitrovgrad (school camp «Field»);
- Georgy Kaboev, North Ossetia Alania, Humalag Village (d/l «Ozerny»).
The key events of the 7th shift were the Scarlet Sails Film Festival and the birthday of the young goodwill ambassador Samantha Smith. The participants of the shift were able to try their hand at the world of cinema, and also got acquainted with the story of a brave girl who managed to lay the foundations for the end of the Cold War.
Artek residents celebrated the Motherland Day, visited the inclusive holiday «Day of Equal Opportunities» and the scientific and applied festival «Time of the First», congratulated the children’s camps «River» and «Ozerny» on their birthdays.
During the shift, a series of events dedicated to the Year of the Teacher and Mentor took place, the project «Without a statute of limitations» was implemented. The children were introduced to the activities of the Russian Movement of Children and Youth by the business game “Be on the move!” and detachment talks «Movement of the First». The program of days of unified action in the 7th shift was dedicated to the All-Russian Day of Family, Love and Fidelity.
The touching Artek tradition has ended — at the “Meeting before parting”, the boys gave the girls roses as a sign of friendship. The guys said goodbye to the children’s center, to their friends and promised each other to keep the friendship found in Artek and to be true to the motto «Artek citizen today — Artek citizen always».
