83% of Crimeans are against the introduction of a tax on childlessness
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Russia they offered introduce a tax on childlessness. Most townspeople are against it. In a service survey SuperJob Representatives of the economically active population took part.
Only 17% of Crimeans surveyed to one degree or another support the introduction of a tax on childlessness (7% are definitely in favor, another 10% are rather in favor). Their main argument is the demographic situation in the country. The majority are against: 23% of respondents rather do not support and 60% definitely do not support. “Sometimes the absence of children is not a person’s personal choice, but, for example, health restrictions or the inability to support them. In the second case, the tax on childlessness will only worsen a person’s financial situation,” the townspeople explain.
Women oppose the idea of introducing a childlessness tax more often than men (87 and 79%, respectively): “Everyone has the right to decide for himself whether he needs to continue his family line or not.” City dwellers under 34 years of age are more likely than those who are older.
Among respondents with children, a slightly smaller number are against the initiative (77%). Among those who are just planning children and those who have firmly decided to abandon the idea of having children, criticism of the idea was voiced most often (95 and 94%, respectively).
