900 pine seedlings were planted in the area of the Sevastopol Sapun Mountain

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Residents of Sevastopol joined the All-Russian action «Let’s Save the Forest». Last weekend, schoolchildren of the city and volunteers planted 465 seedlings of the Pitsunda Red Data Book pine in the Sapun Mountain area. 130 people took part in the event.

Similar events are held in Sevastopol every year. Basically, pupils of educational organizations, children from school forestries are involved in participation, and in recent years there has been an increase in participation by families, for children this is an excellent example, because a responsible attitude and care in relation to natural resources is brought up, first of all, in the family , — the press service of the government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the department of natural resources and ecology, Yulia Gavrilova.

The head of Sevprirodnadzor also added that, despite the cold snap, the time for planting young plants is favorable. In the future, the employees of the Directorate of Protected Areas and Forestry will take care of the Red Book trees. Specialists will carry out clarification, cleaning, loosening, thinning. This will allow the trees to take root and grow.

For the first time, I took part in the tree planting campaign. This is very interesting, we were shown how to use Kolesov’s sword when landing. Now, when I pass by Sapun Mountain, I will know that there is a piece of my work here, it’s very cool , says volunteer Alena.

Recall that the goal of the “Save the Forest” action in 2022 year is to plant 12 million trees throughout Russia. The plan has already been exceeded by 658 thousand trees.
