CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Simferopol, police officers identified a suspect in fraud, the victims of which were two pensioners.
The victims of the attacker were 87-year-old and 79-year-old women, who received a call from an unknown person on their landline phones and said that their close relatives had been involved in an accident, and they needed money to carry out the operation and compensate for the damage to the victims. The women handed over all their savings to the arriving courier, a young man. The damage caused amounted to 300 thousand rubles. As a result of the operational search activities carried out, the police quickly identified a suspect in the crime. He turned out to be a minor local resident— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
The 15-year-old explained that he found a “part-time job” as a courier on the Internet. Following the instructions of the “employer,” he collected funds from a specific address and then transferred them to the specified bank account. For this he received a monetary reward in the amount of 10% of the total amount stolen.
Police officers seized 30 thousand rubles from the teenager, which he received for his “work” as a courier.
Currently, the teenager is registered with the juvenile affairs unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Simferopol. Preventive conversations are held with him and his parents. The materials were submitted for consideration to the Republican Commission on Minors’ Affairs and Protection of Their Rights. The police are identifying other persons involved in illegal activities.
