CrimeaPRESS reports:

In the Soviet region of Crimea, the police identified a minor courier of remote scammers.

The Russian Department of Internal Affairs police in the Sovetsky district received a message from a local resident, born in 1932. The woman said that an unknown person called her on a landline phone, who introduced himself as a hospital doctor and said that her daughter, who had been in an accident, needed money for medical care. After which, at her place of residence, the pensioner handed over 82,000 rubles to an unknown person who introduced himself as a courier— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

During the operational search activities, the identity of the suspect was established. He turned out to be a 17-year-old local resident. The detainee explained that he found a part-time job, which consisted of receiving money from citizens and further transferring it to the specified accounts, leaving himself a percentage of the amount.

A criminal case has been opened for fraud. Currently, a preventive measure has been chosen for him in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place and proper behavior. Despite his young age, the 17-year-old boy will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

As a result of interrogating the suspect, police officers established another fact of his criminal activity in the territory of the Sovetsky district in relation to another pensioner. From her, the guy at her place of residence received funds in the amount of 500 thousand rubles— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

The materials collected by the police officers were sent to the investigative authorities for making a procedural decision.
