A 17-year-old student from Feodosia had a blast in the Crimean capital: he walked, rode… now he shed tears
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On suspicion of stealing two mopeds, Simferopol police detained a 17-year-old resident of Feodosia, a student at one of the colleges in the Crimean capital.
The Simferopol police received two similar statements from city residents about the theft of their vehicles — mopeds parked in the courtyards of apartment buildings. The total amount of damage amounted to 120 thousand rubles— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
The suspect confessed and explained that he had come to Simferopol for a walk and to meet with friends. Walking down the street, he saw a moped that was not equipped with anti-theft devices and decided to go for a ride. Having started the vehicle by connecting wires, he drove along nearby streets, after which he left the moped on one of the city streets. He took possession of the second moped in a similar way.
The investigator of OP No. 1 “Zheleznodorozhny” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Simferopol opened two criminal cases on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Theft). The suspect was given a preventive measure in the form of a recognizance not to leave the place. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years.
