A 22-year-old newcomer stole in Kerch “on request.” Products advertised have… different histories
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Kerch, police officers detained a young man suspected of a series of thefts “on request” from the Internet.
A local resident filed a complaint with the duty station of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Kerch and reported that an unknown person had stolen a baby stroller belonging to her from the entrance of an apartment building. Criminal investigation officers identified the alleged attacker — he turned out to be a 22-year-old non-resident.
Subsequently, investigators established the suspect’s involvement in 8 more thefts of a similar nature. Since December last year, a young man has been stealing personal mobility devices (bicycles, scooters, strollers) from the entrances of apartment buildings to which there was free access— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
The young man told the police that he came to Kerch last summer. The young man was unable to find a job, so he came up with another way to get money. In advance, he posted information on the sale of bicycles, strollers, scooters and other mobile vehicles on the advertisement website, and when a real buyer appeared, he committed theft before the transaction, after which he sold the stolen goods. The proceeds, as usual, were “spent for personal needs.”
On the grounds of a crime under Part 1, Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Theft), a criminal case has been initiated. The stolen property was seized and will be handed over to the owners upon completion of the investigation.
