The day before, an 88-year-old pensioner appealed to the attendant part of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Simferopol district with a statement of theft of funds from its bank account.

The woman said that for three months she regularly used the services of the same taxi driver. It was this driver who abused her confidence and used the opportunity, being next to her to remember the PIN code when she performed banking operations. It was established that the attacker was transporting the victim into distant distances, he waited for her to fall asleep on the road, after which he repeatedly carried out transfers of money through a mobile application to his account, stole a total of 200 thousand rubles. When the pensioner noticed the disappearance of the money and tried to contact the driver, he promised to return the funds, but instead began to put pressure on it, asking not to report what happened to law enforcement agencies. However, promises remained unfulfilled, and the victim had to contact the police. As a result of operational-search measures, a police officers were installed and detained by a 42-year-old local resident. The suspect compensated the damage in full-voiced the details in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Crimea.

The Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Simferopol district opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code (theft).
