A Bakhchisarai TV repairman “stole” both a TV and 5,000 rubles from a client

CrimeaPRESS reports:

A 60-year-old local resident contacted the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Gagarinsky district and reported that her TV and five thousand rubles had been stolen.

The police found out that the victim had found a specialist on one of the popular Internet resources to repair the equipment, and then contacted him via correspondence. After some time, the master came to her and, after discussing the deadlines for completing the order with the client, he took the TV and five thousand rubles as payment for the work. Over the next four months, the woman called the specialist to find out how things were going with her order, then asked to return the equipment and money, but he did not fulfill his obligations and refused to return the equipment. The amount of material damage amounted to 25 thousand rubles, — note the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

As a result of operational search activities, criminal investigation officers established that the suspect was a 48-year-old resident of Bakhchisarai. The defendant was detained while leaving on a business trip. He admitted to what he had done and said that he initially wanted to fix the TV, but after disassembling it, he realized that he couldn’t do it, so he decided to keep it for himself.

A criminal case has been initiated against the attacker under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
