A bomb weighing 250 kg was discovered in Sevastopol. Destroyed on the spot

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the city of Sevastopol carried out another operation to destroy an explosive object from the Great Patriotic War. A German SD-250 aerial bomb weighing 250 kilograms was eliminated. She was found in the area of Kazachya Bay.

The ammunition was used to destroy populated areas, production facilities, infrastructure, defensive structures, armored vehicles and enemy personnel. The peculiarity of this particular find is that it is captured: having captured a German bomb, our troops equipped it with a Soviet fuse and, literally, attacked the enemy with his own weapons. Due to the unusual design of the ammunition, its transportation was too risky. They decided to destroy the formidable artifact at the discovery site. Pyrotechnicians from the emergency department dug it into the ground and created an embankment. To protect nearby objects, special ditches were laid, designed to redirect the energy of the explosion. The operation was carried out professionally and carefully: no damage was caused to the population or infrastructure— the details of the operation were announced in the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Sevastopol.
