A car arsonist was detained in Simferopol. He says he was taking revenge

In Simferopol, operatives detained a suspect in arson of a car.
At night, police department No. 3 “Central” of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Simferopol received a message from the dispatcher of the city’s fire and rescue department that a car had caught fire on one of the streets of the capital. The owner of the car explained to the police that the car parked near a private home was in good condition.
As a result of operational-search activities, employees of the criminal investigation department of the police department No. 3 “Central” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Simferopol established that the fire did not occur by accident. Police detained a 30-year-old acquaintance of the victim on suspicion of committing a crime.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
The man explained that he deliberately set the car on fire by spilling fire starter fluid on the hood and using a rolled up banknote placed in a plastic radiator grille.
According to the suspect, it is known that the motive for the arson was money that the owner of the car allegedly owed him. The damage caused to the owner of the car amounted to 1,600,000 rubles.
A criminal case has been initiated against the attacker on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Deliberate destruction or damage to someone else’s property, causing significant damage, committed for hooligan reasons, by arson, explosion or other generally dangerous method”). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
