By the verdict of the Simferopol District Court of the Republic of Crimea dated July 8, 2024, a resident of the village of Sofievka, Simferopol District, citizen Ch., born in 1991, was convicted of intentionally causing serious bodily harm using an object used as a weapon.
On February 22 of this year, citizen Ch., while in the village of Krasnaya Zorka, Simferopol district, during a conflict that arose, struck citizen M. in the head, using a car muffler as a weapon. As a result of these illegal actions, citizen M. received a severe brain injury, as a result of which he was hospitalized in a medical facility. The guilty party was sentenced by the court to 3 years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 3 years, with a number of duties imposed on him. A specialized state body will monitor the behavior of the conditionally convicted person.— the court’s press service announced the details of the case.
When sentencing, the court takes into account the circumstances of the criminal case as a whole, the ensuing consequences, as well as information about the personality of the defendant, his attitude to the crime committed, sincere repentance, his post-criminal behavior, expressed in his active assistance in solving and investigating the crime, taking measures to make amends for the harm caused to the victim and providing him with financial assistance.
The sentence has not entered into legal force.
