Construction of the first phygital center continues in Sevastopol on Kolobova Street, 21. This is a unique facility that combines an e-sports club and regular sports grounds. It will be equipped with virtual reality zones, a computer zone, as well as a “smart” sports ground where you can practice football, basketball and workout. The key idea of the center is to combine computer sports with usual physical activity. It looks something like this: a football team plays the first half in a computer game, and the second half on the field. In this case, all goals scored in a virtual and classic match are ultimately summed up.
A new movement that combines computer and classical sports is very actively gaining momentum in our country. The All-Russian Federation of Physical Sports has already been accredited by the Ministry of Sports. In Russia, one center has been built in Kuzbass and, accordingly, we will be the first on the peninsula. On behalf of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, the “Games of the Future” will be held in Kazan next year. Our team is now in Rostov at the qualifying competitions, representing the Hero City. We plan to complete the construction of the center by the end of the year and hope that we will become part of the big international games of the future, which will be held for the first time in the world— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the department for youth and sports Sergei Reznichenko.
The opportunity to implement the project appeared thanks to a subsidy from the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation. The source of funding was the federal project “Business Sprint (I Choose Sports)”, within the framework of which the first phygital center in the region will be created.
A physical sports federation has already been created and is actively developing in Sevastopol. This spring we held a number of events in various disciplines in the field of phygital. I would like to note the tactical battle. The guys competed in the traditional computer sports discipline “counter-strike”, and also played laser tag on the court — this was already a physical activity. In addition, this year we held competitions in phygital racing. In Sevastopol, the kids really like the combination of physical and intellectual activitysays the president of the city’s physical sports federation, Evgeniy Eremenko.
The physical center will also include all the necessary infrastructure for holding sporting events — a medical office, locker rooms, and so on. All this will create a completely new approach to sports.
