CrimeaPRESS reports:
The presentation of the collection of translations “In the Unity of Rhymes and Thoughts” took place in the reading room of the library named after. A.S. Pushkin. As noted at the event, the collection included translations of works by poets who lived in Crimea and left their mark not only on the cultural space of the peninsula, but also far beyond its borders. All translations were made by members of the Evpatoria poetry club “Euterpe”.
The poems in the collection are grouped into three sections. The first contains translations of the works of famous Crimean Tatar poets: Ashik Umer, Bekir Choban-zade, Eshref Shemy-zade and Amdi Giraybay. In the second — works of poets representing other peoples living in Crimea: Armenian, Ukrainian, Belarusian — Alexander Tsaturyan, Lesya Ukrainka, Yanka Kupala.
The event was attended by the head of the city Galina Gerasimova and the deputy head of the administration of Yevpatoria Alevtina Folomeeva. They presented certificates for their participation in the preparation for publication.
The publication of such collections makes it possible to get acquainted in translation with works written in various languages. This helps to better understand the intricacies of other cultures and promotes continuity between generations,” noted Galina Gerasimova.
Let us remind you that the poetry club “Euterpe” was created in Yevpatoria in January 2022. It operates at the library named after. Lesya Ukrainka. The head of the club is Tatyana Drokina.
