A couple from Simferopol went to a colony for fraud with home ownership and extortion of money

The prosecutor’s office of the Kyiv district of the city of Simferopol supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a married couple. They were found guilty under Part 1. 3, 4 tbsp. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud), paragraph “b”, part 3 of Art. 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (extortion).
The court found that the couple fraudulently took ownership of a house worth more than 5.3 million rubles, which was purchased for a resident of the region by her partner. After that, they received another 500 thousand rubles under the pretext of having to pay taxes and fees for the purchase of real estate. After the victims’ demands for the return of home ownership, the defendants demanded 2 million rubles, threatening to disseminate defamatory information.— reported the Crimean prosecutor’s office.
The court, agreeing with the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the spouses to 9 years in prison to be served in general and strict regime correctional colonies. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
