In the Kirovsky district, a man will be sent to prison for almost 6 years for driving while intoxicated. The 32-year-old Crimean was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a car by a person who is intoxicated and has a criminal record for a similar crime).
The court found that the man, having been convicted of violating traffic rules while intoxicated, which negligently resulted in the death of a person, did not draw the appropriate conclusions for himself and, after drinking alcohol in March 2023, began driving again.
Driving a VAZ 21081 car along Vostochnaya Street in the village of Abrikosovka, Kirovsky District, the convict was stopped by traffic police officers, who recorded the fact that the driver was intoxicated— reported the Crimean prosecutor’s office.
And that’s not the end of the story! In November 2023, the convict again began driving a VAZ 21081 while intoxicated. The illegal actions of the culprit were stopped by traffic police officers.
The court, taking into account the existing criminal record and the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to 5 years and 11 months in prison with deprivation of the right to drive all types of vehicles for a period of 5 years and 6 months. He will serve his sentence in a general regime correctional colony.
Due to the fact that the convict sold the car, money equal to its value was collected from him,” the prosecutor’s office clarified.
The verdict did not enter into legal force.
