The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol completed the investigation of a criminal case against a resident of Krasnoperekopsk, accused of murder (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The investigative department for the city of Krasnoperekopsk established that in the early morning of January 1, 2016, a drunk 26-year-old man, during a conflict, inflicted wounds to the father of his common-law wife with a kitchen knife in the neck and head. Realizing that the cohabitant who had run away from home would report the murder to law enforcement agencies, the attacker fled the crime scene. Investigators and forensic investigators, together with colleagues from the police, immediately organized work to record and seize traces of the crime and collect evidence, — the department’s press service reported.
It has been established that the defendant is currently in the territory of another state. He has been put on the international wanted list and has been charged in absentia with committing a particularly serious crime.
The criminal investigation has been completed. The materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office for the purpose of studying, approving the indictment and sending the case to court.
