A Crimean citizen will be held accountable for an accident in which a 62-year-old pedestrian died

In the Simferopol region, a man accused of an accident in which a 62-year-old pedestrian died will appear in court. The Crimean citizen is accused under paragraph “c” of Part 4 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, resulting in the death of a person through negligence, committed by a person deprived of the right to drive a vehicle).
It was established that the accused, having been deprived of the right to drive a vehicle for driving while intoxicated, got behind the wheel of a Mercedes car in October 2023. Moving along the highway “border with the Kherson region — Simferopol — Alushta — Yalta” in the area of the village of Krasnaya Zorka, the accused hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. The victim died at the scene from his injuries.,” the prosecutor’s office provided details.
With the approved indictment, the criminal case was sent to the Simferopol District Court for consideration on the merits. The culprit of a fatal accident faces serious punishment — imprisonment for a term of five to twelve years.
