The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has opened a criminal case against a 14-year-old resident of Feodosia, suspected of intentionally causing grievous harm to the health of a minor for hooligan reasons (clause “e”, part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

A video has been circulated on social networks showing a conflict during which one teenager inflicts bodily harm on another— reported in Sledkom.

On behalf of the acting Head of the Main Investigation Department E.V. Rudnev, the investigative department in the city of Feodosia immediately initiated a criminal case. It was established that on the afternoon of January 3, a 14-year-old student of one of the schools in Feodosia on the territory of Komsomolsky Park beat a 17-year-old boy he knew during a conflict, as a result of which the victim was seriously injured. Currently, investigative actions are being carried out and all participants in the conflict are being identified.

In addition, as part of the criminal investigation, the investigation will evaluate the actions of the teenagers who filmed this video, the situation in their families, the educational process in educational institutions where young men study— reported in Sledkom.

The progress of the criminal investigation is under the control of the leadership of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

The prosecutor’s office is also conducting an investigation. It is reported that during the inspection the reasons for what happened will be established, the actions of parents will be assessed in terms of the proper fulfillment of responsibilities for raising minors, and the implementation of legislation in the field of preventing neglect and juvenile delinquency will be checked.
