A criminal case has been opened in Sevastopol for fraud in the sale of apartments
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Sevastopol, the Gagarinsky District Prosecutor’s Office conducted an investigation into the legality of the seizure of citizens’ funds under the guise of participation in the shared-equity construction of an apartment building.
It was established that two residents of Simferopol and a resident of Sevastopol responded to advertisements on the Internet for the sale of studio apartments in a building under construction at the address: Sevastopol, st. Kamysovoye Highway, 16B. In the period from January 2022 to August 2023, being misled about the legality of the construction of the property and the real possibility of registering ownership of the apartments, they entered into preliminary purchase and sale agreements with the owner’s representative and paid a total of 5.5 million rubles. This was reported by the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.
In fact, the land plot on which the building is located is intended for individual housing construction. The construction of a four-story apartment building on it is contrary to the requirements of the law. The person who entered into the contracts was not the owner of the object or his representative, did not intend to fulfill his obligations to the buyers, and disposed of the victims’ funds at his own discretionthe message says.
The district prosecutor’s office sent the inspection materials to the investigative body. Based on the results of their consideration, the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Gagarinsky district of Sevastopol opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale).
The progress and results of the criminal investigation are under the control of the prosecutor’s office.
