A criminal case has been opened in Sevastopol over another glamping incident
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Based on materials from the prosecutor’s audit, reports «Sevastopol newspaper»a criminal case has been initiated regarding violation of the regime of a specially protected natural area in Laspi.
The Sevastopol Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor’s Office conducted an inspection of compliance with the requirements of the legislation on the protection of specially protected natural areas. It was established that on the land plot leased to a legal entity operating in the field of hotel business and recreation, in the spring of 2023, piled concrete structures were placed — two unfinished tourist structures — glampings.
This site is located within the boundaries of a specially protected natural area — a natural landscape reserve of regional significance «Laspi», where construction is prohibited. These actions caused damage to the city of Sevastopol in the amount of over 1.1 million rubles.
The environmental prosecutor’s office sent the inspection materials to the preliminary investigation body. Based on the results of their consideration by the Russian Department of Internal Affairs for the Balaklava district of Sevastopol, a criminal case was opened on this fact under the article “Violation of the regime of specially protected natural areas and natural objects.”
The progress and results of the criminal investigation are under control, said Marina Kuzmenko, senior assistant to the Sevastopol prosecutor for interaction with the media.
Earlier it was reported that in Laspi another glamping site was built with violations and right on the cliff — from 11 two-story houses. The Investigation Committee is conducting an investigation into how it arose there without storm drains and local treatment facilities.
In 2022, Sevastopol received 150 million rubles for the development of tourism infrastructure. The Department of Tourism issued grants for the “creation of modular non-capital accommodation facilities” — glampings. It was expected that with such support, at least 99 modular accommodation facilities would be built. The amount of compensation for one module — a glamorous tent or plywood house — is up to 1.5 million rubles. Within the framework of one project, at least ten year-round modules must be built.
But for some reason, most of the grant glamping sites (built and unbuilt due to the indignation of townspeople) were located in the most inappropriate places for this: in protected natural areas — the Laspi and Batiliman tracts, as well as in the area of the Uchkuevka city park on the Northern side of Sevastopol.
