A criminal case was opened in Sevastopol for desecration of the State Flag of the Russian Federation

Employees of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol, together with operatives of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, detained a 21-year-old local resident who violated the State Flag of the Russian Federation.

It was established that the young man, while in Artillery Bay in Sevastopol, saw at the foot of the monument to F. Klokachev an installation in which the state flag of the Russian Federation was used. Since the attacker had a negative attitude towards the conduct of a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, he decided to express his disagreement and kicked the flag canvas, as well as the objects placed on it. The actions of the suspect were seen by nearby residents and guests of the city of Sevastopol, who immediately expressed their indignation and indignation to the young man, after which the attacker publicly spoke negatively about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, maintaining international peace and security,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

As a result of operational search activities, law enforcement officers identified and detained the attacker. In relation to the young man, the police drew up a protocol on an administrative offense, provided for in Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, the collected materials were transferred to the Leninsky District Court for consideration on the merits. The inquiry department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Leninsky district also initiated a criminal case against the detainee under Art. 329 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Desecration of the State Flag of the Russian Federation”, he faces up to one year in prison.
