A criminal case was opened in Sevastopol for theft of more than 17.2 million rubles from citizens
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The prosecutor’s office of the Balaklava district of Sevastopol conducted an inspection following a complaint from local residents about violations committed during the reconstruction of their apartment building at the address: Sevastopol, st. Krestovsky, 45.
It was established that the house consisted of 8 apartments. In 2016, the owners of residential premises attracted a commercial organization to carry out its reconstruction and major repairs, giving it the right to transfer the resulting new residential premises to investors. As a result of the work carried out, a two-level attic floor with 10 new apartments was built. Under the pretext of transferring their ownership, the construction company entered into investment agreements with six citizens and received funds from them. At the same time, the reconstruction of the building was carried out without permission, in the absence of permits. The reconstructed residential building has not yet been put into operation. Investors cannot dispose of the purchased apartments; the developer has not returned the funds to them,” reported the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.
Thus, the victims suffered damage totaling over 17.2 million rubles.
The district prosecutor’s office sent the inspection materials to the preliminary investigation body. Based on the results of their consideration, the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Balaklava district of Sevastopol opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale).
The progress and results of the investigation are under the control of the prosecutor’s office.
