A Design and Educational Center for BIM Design was opened at KFU
CrimeaPRESS reports:
At the Crimean Federal University. V.I. Vernadsky opened a design and educational center for BIM design in construction. The center was created at the university as part of the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership program. BIM design is a new technology that involves constructing a three-dimensional model of a building and displaying all its life cycles.
The main task of the center is to meet the needs of the region for qualified personnel who would have completely new necessary competencies. From January 1 of this year, all projects that are developed with federal funds must be designed in BIM models. This task has been set today by the Russian Ministry of Construction, and the work of our center is aimed at solving this problem, – the press service of the university quotes the head of the center, director of the Academy of Construction and Architecture of KFU. V. I. Vernadsky Natalya Tsopa.
At the center, students will study the basics of regulatory regulation of construction, techniques for space-planning decisions and functional fundamentals of design; will acquire skills and experience in constructing an information parametric model of construction projects and learn to develop design documentation.
In the process of implementing our strategic projects, construction and creation of new infrastructure sites, we have an urgent need to create such a center of competence. And we understand why at the state level there has also been a trend towards working with information systems and developing BIM design. This center is important not only for the university in terms of personnel training, but also for the region,” emphasizes Vice-Rector for Innovation and Regional Development of the Crimean Federal University Vitaly Dyatel.
In addition, the university has developed an advanced training program “Design of buildings and structures in the Renga BIM system.” Construction industry specialists will be trained at the center in building information modeling techniques for design, construction and operation.
We are working to change educational policies and educational plans to prepare qualified personnel for the construction industry. In addition, here we are trained to work on modern Russian software, which is very necessary within the framework of import substitution, – notes Natalya Tsopa.
To launch the center, teachers from the Academy of Construction and Architecture of KFU were trained in working with the tools of the nanoCAD platform, the CADLib Model and Archive information system, and also learned the basics of design in the Renga program.
