A drug dealer was arrested in the Saki region

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On November 7, 2024, the Saki District Court of the Republic of Crimea granted the request of the investigator of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Saki» to select a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to a 42-year-old native of the city of Saki for the illegal sale of a narcotic drug (Part 1 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code RF).

The preliminary investigation established that the suspect, knowing for certain that methylephedrone was classified as a narcotic drug, the circulation of which is prohibited in the Russian Federation, illegally sold this narcotic drug weighing 0.10 grams to a person who participated as a “buyer” as part of an operational investigation carried out by police officers. investigative event “Test purchase”, for which he was detained. When charged with committing a crime under Part 1 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the man refused to testify on the basis of Art. 51 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.

Considering that the arrested person is suspected of involvement in committing a serious crime, for which the criminal law provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment of up to eight years, the court granted the investigator’s request and detained the accused for a period of 1 month and 12 days.

The resolution did not enter into legal force.
