A drunk “dad” on a moped is a grief in the family. Road crime and punishment in the Nizhnegorsky region

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In the Nizhnegorsky district, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate detained a drunk mopedist. Since the offender turned out to be a “repeat offender,” he will not get off with administrative punishment.

While on duty to supervise road traffic, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Nizhnegorsky District stopped in the village of Nizhnegorsky a 48-year-old driver of a Yiben 50 QT-19 moped without a state registration plate, moving without a motorcycle helmet. During the conversation, the man showed signs of intoxication. The man refused to undergo a medical examination to determine whether he was intoxicated.

During a check of the State Traffic Inspectorate databases, it turned out that the driver had already been prosecuted for a similar offense in July last year. The police filed administrative charges against the violator for driving while intoxicated and for driving without a motorcycle helmet.— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

The Crimean citizen faces a real prison sentence (the family will definitely “be happy”). A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Driving a vehicle while intoxicated by a person subject to administrative punishment or having a criminal record). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to two years.
