A drunken Crimean “witty” denounced his own wife. Will be responsible for words in court

The Kirovsky District Prosecutor’s Office approved an indictment in a criminal case against a 59-year-old local resident. The Crimean citizen is accused under Part 2 of Art. 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (deliberately false denunciation of the commission of a crime, combined with accusing a person of committing a serious crime).

According to investigators, in October 2023, a man, while intoxicated, out of jealousy, informed the local police officer about his wife’s possession of drugs. The verification of this message did not find any objective confirmation of the fact that the applicant’s wife committed the above crime.— reported the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Crimea.

The criminal case was sent to the Kirovsky District Court for consideration on the merits. The informer faces a heavy fine or imprisonment for up to 3 years.
