The forum “Family Sports – Healthy Society” was held in Sevastopol as part of the family healthy lifestyle festival “The whole family plays table tennis.” Participants in the forum, which took place at the Public Support Headquarters, discussed the development of outdoor sports and the opening of sports clubs in schools in different areas.
Our main task is to involve Sevastopol families in sporting events, so that sports activities take place not individually, but in a family format. We have now launched a table tennis festival, which was attended by 140 people. The sport is accessible, you can play with the whole family — couples with children, grandchildren, as well as teams come to play– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the vice-president of the regional table tennis federation Yuri Gromyak.
He also noted that the plans are to attract Sevastopol sports federations to implement family training, popularize the “Mom, Dad, I am a Sports Family” festival in the city and prepare family teams to participate in All-Russian Spartakiads.
In the Year of the Family, our priority is family sports. We are holding a healthy lifestyle festival in order to embody and implement our experience in family sports, to restore history, since Sevastopol is famous for its sports traditions,” notes Yuri Gromyak.
Let us remind you that 2024 in our country has been officially declared the Year of the Family by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The decision was made to popularize family protection policies and preserve traditional family values.
