The Feodosia City Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced a 37-year-old local resident for illegally acquiring, carrying and storing an explosive device.

The court found that the defendant, during the period from 03/01/2023 to 08/15/2023 in the city of Feodosiya, Republic of Crimea, under unknown circumstances, illegally purchased from an unknown person a radio-controlled homemade high-explosive explosive device of the electric type, with a total weight of 882.5 g After which he illegally transferred the explosive device he had acquired from an unspecified place to his place of residence, where he illegally stored it until the discovery and seizure by officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, having a real opportunity to voluntarily hand it over to law enforcement agencies, resulting in a criminal the defendant’s activities were stopped. When passing the sentence, the court took into account information about the defendant’s personality, mitigating circumstances, as well as the absence of aggravating circumstances.

Taking into account the circumstances of the case, the court sentenced the defendant to 4 (four) years of imprisonment with a fine of 40,000 (forty thousand) rubles, with the main sentence to be served in the form of imprisonment in a general regime correctional colony.
