A festive concert dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day and People's Will Day took place in Sevastopol

On February 22, a festive concert dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day and People’s Will Day took place at the Sevastopol Fishermen’s Palace of Culture.

Ten years ago, Sevastopol residents came to Nakhimov Square to declare their desire to return home to Russia. Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev, addressing those gathered — military personnel, veterans, law enforcement officers — emphasized that this episode opened a new page in the history of the country.

In 2014, on Nakhimov Square, Sevastopol residents opened a new page in the history of our Fatherland. Coming out to Nakhimov Square, the residents of Sevastopol told the whole world that Sevastopol, which has always been, is and will be a Russian city, is returning home. After this there was a historic referendum, and Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin signed a decree on the return of Sevastopol and the Republic of Crimea to Russia. After this, events began in Donbass, and today we are returning the Russian world. Our valiant guys, our defenders of the Fatherland, on the fields of a special military operation, prove the correctness of our historical values, prove to the whole world that Russians do not abandon their own,” the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Mikhail Razvozhaev.

Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Vladimir Nemtsev expressed gratitude to everyone who is now defending Russia:

Defender of the Fatherland Day is truly a national holiday. It personifies the heroic history of our armed forces, the strong strong bond of many generations of defenders and, of course, the deepest gratitude to those who fought and continue to fight for our native land, for our people. On the eve of the holiday, I would like, first of all, to wish those who are today on the front line defending our land, our values, to return home alive and healthy. Health and prosperity to you, and long-awaited victory to us all.

Deputy Commander of the Black Sea Fleet for military-political work, Rear Admiral Vyacheslav Rodionov, congratulated those gathered.

Each holiday has its own face. Defender of the Fatherland Day has the face of a warrior who valiantly, heroically, courageously defends his country, his people, his land. This is the second year that we have been celebrating this holiday in such conditions under the conditions of a special military operation. We must achieve all the goals of the special operation so that our people, our beloved country Russia, can live in peace. On the eve of the holiday, I want to wish you all health, good luck, success in all your endeavors, victory and peaceful skies above your headssaid Vyacheslav Rodionov.

The concert guests were treated to: the Russian National Guard Orchestra, the Sevastopol Chamber Choir, People’s Artist of Russia Ilya Reznik, the Little Country musical theater, the Golden Epaulets vocal ensemble, the Black Sea state dance ensemble, the Firebird vocal ensemble, show- group “Walk, Soul”, vocal ensemble “Remix”, group “Music Ex”, vocal ensemble “Galatea”, choreographic ensemble “Atlantika”, Honored Artist of Russia Olga Pankratova and dance ensemble “Ultramarine”, laureate of international competitions Irina Knyazeva, Honored Sevastopol artist Vyacheslav Muzychenko, poetess Maria Batyukhno, Honored Artist of Sevastopol Tatyana Bartkova and guitarist Nikita Konopatsky.
