A fight in an elevator landed a 41-year-old resident of Simferopol behind bars.
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The prosecutor’s office of the Zheleznodorozhny district of Simferopol supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 41-year-old local resident. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (threat of murder), part 1 of Art. 116.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (assault).
The court found that in early August of this year, the convict, while intoxicated and in the elevator cabin of a multi-story building, came into conflict with a previously unfamiliar man. Being in a confined space, the man began punching the victim in the head and body area. When the elevator doors opened, the victim tried to run out, but the convict, uttering death threats, grabbed and squeezed his neck with the elbow of his arm.— said the prosecutor’s office.
The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the perpetrator to 1 year and 4 months in prison. The convicted person will serve his sentence in a maximum security correctional colony. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
