On Wednesday, June 26, a fire alarm went off in an administrative building in the center of Simferopol. This was the start of training sessions to practice actions when extinguishing a fire at a facility with a large number of people. Employees of department No. 3 of Special Department No. 12 and 1 fire and rescue squad of the Federal Fire Service of the State Fire Service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Republic of Crimea took part in the training of practical actions.

The main goal of the training is to develop an algorithm for the interaction of fire departments with employees of the facility’s duty services. According to the tactical plan, the simulated fire occurred on the ground floor in the dining room. It was caused by an electrical appliance that caught fire. The automatically triggered fire alarm made it possible to promptly call emergency services and evacuate the facility’s employees. It took the fire departments that arrived on the scene less than 30 minutes to completely extinguish the fire. All goals and objectives of the training were successfully completed in the shortest possible time— the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Kalmykia reported.

The training session of the fire departments took place in the administrative building where the office of the plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District is located.

It is worth noting that fire safety at such facilities is ensured by special fire departments. They are responsible not only for extinguishing fires, but also for the entire range of preventive measures.
