A foreign car is on fire… In the Nizhnegorsky region, a jealous person set fire to his opponent’s car

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The duty unit of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Nizhnegorsky district of the Republic of Crimea received a message that a foreign car was on fire in the courtyard of an apartment building in the urban-type settlement of Nizhnegorsky.

The investigators who arrived at the scene suggested that the cause of the fire could have been arson. While working on this version, the police, in hot pursuit, detained the suspect not far from the crime scene and took him to the police department. He turned out to be a 35-year-old local resident who had no previous convictions. During the trial, the man confessed to what he had done and explained that he was driven to such an act by jealousy. Suspecting his wife of treason, the attacker used a lighter to set fire to the front fender of his alleged rival’s car. — the details of the story were announced by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.

The investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Nizhnegorsky district opened a criminal case against the detainee on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The defendant was given a preventive measure in the form of a recognizance not to leave the place.
